Traffic Maintenance Attenuators, Inc. was originally founded as W&W Systems, Inc in early 1982. W&W Systems, Inc. at that time primarily contracted business as a ground mounted impact attenuator installer of both permanent and temporary units and conducted repairs with factory certified parts. The owners of Traffic Maintenance Attenuators have over 44 years of experience in the construction industry. In 1993 W&W Systems, changed its name to Traffic Maintenance Attenuators, Inc. to represent the expansion of the business into the sale and rental of Truck Mounted Attenuators.

From 1996 to 2000 the owners of Traffic Maintenance Attenuators, Inc. assessed the marketplace in the realm of Truck Mounted Attenuators and formed relationships with contractors in the local area to determine the necessity for safety on and off the major highways. After considerable research and development the owners developed a unit that would best serve the motoring public in the way of safety and still provide protection for the general contractor while operating on the Interstates and by-ways of the surrounding states.

In 2000 Traffic Maintenance Attenuators, Inc. started manufacturing the U-MAD line of crash attenuator cushions with NCHRP Test Level 3 and 2 being it’s primary focus. In late 2000 early 2001 Traffic Maintenance Attenuators, Inc. also designed a patented style of protected support vehicle to provide the workers with a much needed safety cage within which to work in conjunction with the U-MAD line of crash attenuator cushions. Today & the Future
U-MAD TMA currently offers 22 basic products specializing in custom mounting devices. As a growing company we are currently used in 25 states and 8 countries.
